Cheryl began playing golf when she met her husband. Like many golfers, she became obsessed with the game and challenged herself to improve. Within 5 years, her handicap went from 36 to 4. When she went back to college, she received a special exemption to play Division I golf for a year with the University of Cincinnati golf team. She obtained a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Addictions Studies and graduate training in Clinical Psychology. Around the same time she went back to school, Cheryl took her first yoga class. When she found power yoga 12 years later and experienced the effect it had on her body and mind she decided it was time to share her love of yoga with others. After training with Baron Baptiste to teach power yoga it was only natural that she combine her love of yoga and golf by taking Katherine Roberts Yoga for Golfers™ certification program.
As she began teaching she realized she could help even more people by studying the therapeutic applications of yoga. With yoga therapy training Cheryl is more effectively able to work with injured athletes. In 2011 she completed and was certified in yoga therapy by Ananda Seva, training with several prominent and experienced yoga therapists. She is registered as a RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance. A lifetime of athletics and the pursuit of ultimate health and wellness leads Cheryl to continually study injury prevention and treatment, physical training techniques, yoga, nutrition, ayurveda, meditation and multiple alternative therapies.
